Marie Cleaves Rothacker from Rev9 Dance and Performance Company offers you this haiku journey through their 2010 Philly Fringe performance. Factory is a tour through the fabulous and drug-addled (and arty!) world of Andy Warhol’s eponymous art machine. Here we go!

red beauty queens smile
logos welcome anytime
bleached white is the style
“Silk Screens”
technique of copy
images make stars feel good
neon makes artists
“Waiting for the Man”
our hands in pockets
we wait for liquid pleasure
flying is so sweet
“Heroin”
dark eyes peer aimless
bruised arms pulled, pushed to nothing
lying limp, I cry
“Death and Disaster”
wanting to escape
violent thoughts hang at edge
leap out of madness
“Kiss”
your arms so tender
palms touch, skin to skin we kiss
intimate lovers
“I Shot Andy Warhol”
this piece of metal
cold in my hand will shoot you
no more ignoring
“Chelsea Girls”
lights, camera, action
we move as if we don’t care
legs, lips, hair, he does
“The In Crowd”
Edie’s entrance stuns
black sequins reflect the scene
brunette becomes blonde
“Finale”
we make our entrance

Factory has only two shows, both on Septmeber 4. Lantern Theater, 10th and Ludlow Streets, Center City. 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, $18.
