Music and Dancin’: Le Chat Lunatique this Wednesday at the Cabaret

Django Reinhardt, call your office. Le Chat Lunatique brings more to the table than your average New Mexican gypsy jazz quartet. Their sound lends a wiggle to the hips and a shake to the shoulder, and their impeccably-groomed mustaches add an irresistibly charming element of Francophile sleaze to the act.

<%image(20070903-chat lunatique.jpg|320|200|null)%>Inspired by jazz greats Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli, this boyish foursome has brought filthy Parisian jazz to the clean streets of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and during the Festivals, they’re bringing it to Philly. Le Chat Lunatique performs with the Lucidity Suitcase Intercontinental/Thaddeus Phillips this week at the Painted Bride, providing a spicy, mischevious live and sometimes interactive soundtrack for Flamingo/Winnebago. This Wednesday night, the crazy critters will be stirring it up for the crowd at the Fringe Cabaret at Club Polaris, on 9th Street between Spring Garden and Callowhill. Check out their MySpace and listen for yourself.
